Dear Dick & Lizzia & children i will
try & awnser your kind & welcom letter, i
was glad to hear that you was well, it
found us well, all but nancy she has
had a risen on her right hand for three
weeks & now got the chickens pocks it dont
seem to hurt very bad, i have all the house work
to do uncle Billy & Rany milks we have
three cows with young calves, but the
good lord has blest me with better health
than i uster have, that Mother noble surthen
surrup that your poor farther got for me a
year before he died cured me of my old
complaint, i feel a little touch of it some times
if i had not got better before he went off
i could not stood what i have, but now i
have so much to do it keeps my mind off
of him & Affa & Lizzia all three
gone from me Lizzia in Saint Lewis

Affa is the same way no worse & the
Drs says she cant be cured i want to go
an see her this sumer, Lizzia went back
to her school the midle of october she would
went sooner but Lum & Mary & ther
children come down to see us & stayd a week
would of stayed longer but was afred of cold
wether thay come in a spring waggon did
not cost them eny thing only crosen the river,
thay have four rite prety children, i tell
ther names, Cally Lowen & William pollard
& Lizzia Wellburn & Dasy Dean, the
boy looks like Dickey did when i seen him
last thay were gone from home four weeks
thay stayd with Lum kin i boon County
left ther things in Callys ceare & mr Ewells
Cally has to babys she lost too, her oldest,
Scot Wisdom was here when Mary was
i do not know whare hee is at this time hee
maks his home at his sisters frank Halls
in boon County Halls vill is the post
office i think, hee Rides a bout all the

in marchel sealeane county, hee go to Lum often
your aunt Mag Headington lives in mexico
she has no children, Sue Woodard lives on a
farme a mile this side of mexico she has too
a boys, sue moss that was married a mr
Dicson thay have one child a boy, too of mr harrison
boys is married Jim & John, thay are all well
at Mits & Toms, i have not heard from Whitley
for a long time, Mit has got to be post master
the last i heard from frank he was a goen
to move further out in Texes, I heare from
Ellen often thay are well, it has been very
cold this winter thare have been a heep of sickness
& a good many deaths old man goatley is dead
& Henry DeJohnett, & Sam, Duly & ike
Black, and John Dingles wife & Henry
Williams wife & old Mrs Carter that is
Jim Carters mother, they died with the
pneumonia, the most of them, thar has
been a great many more, thar has been
a heep of changes cince you was here

out, you would not know the place now, your
cosen Mag Ellis is dead she died last fall
i will cut this peace out & put in the letter
so you can read how she kild her self, she
was fixen to go to a party & thought she
would take a big dose to keep the chills
off, i felt so sorry for her & her brother,
when i go to fulton i will ask a bout him
i will have to stop i make such a poor out
in spilling & writing, i think Dick mite
come & see me one more time, if you all
cant, i have got as mutch love for my
children as i ever had & i know i had as
mutch as eny mother ever had, i pray
the lord to watch over you all is my prair
you writ when you can, my love to all
