David's sons James and Thomas migrated to Audrain County, Missouri while son David Jr. stayed in Kentucky. Franklin County, Kentucky records list the marriages of his children. Mercer County lists a David Lawrence claim on 1,000 acres on the Rollin g Ford of Salt River which he made and improved in 1776. It adjoined land of Samuel Lawrence. John and Solomon Lawrence also had pre-emption of 1,000 acres each on the Salt River in Mercer County. Father David Lawrence died 10 NOV 1804 leaving five ‎(5)‎ children and the oldest, Mary Ann, only age 10. He owned black slaves and bequeathed them in his will ‎(on record)‎.

LAWRENCE: David, of Ireland, emigrated to America and married a Miss McKinney and settled in Shelby County, Kentucky. His children were; Mary A, Thomas, James M., Elizabeth and David. Mary A. first married Richard Bowen and had Judith A, Elilzab eth, William, Richard, Mary E, and Effie. Mr. Bowen died in Kentucky and his widow then married William Rodman and settled in Callaway County, Missouri. Their children were Margaret and Susan. Thomas settled in Callaway County, Missouri in 182 4. He married Sally Riddle and had Durrett, David, Thomas, James and Russell. James M. married Lucy D. Martin and settled in Callaway County, Missouri in 1823. Their children were David R., William M, James T, Mary A, Peggy R and Larissa W. Eli zabeth married James Metcalf of Kentucky. David married Elizabeth Schofield of Kentucky.
