Note
Obituary of Affie Lowen Hendrix
Newspaper unknown

At Fulton Insane Aylum, on the 12th
inst., Miss Affie Hendrix, of this county
aged 30 years.

The deceased was a native of Audrain, and
a daughter of the late Wm. Hendrix, for-
merly Sheriff of this county. She was a lady
of the most excellent qualities and was held in
the highest esteem by all who knew her. At
about the age of 20 years her health be-
came seriously impaired: her malady con-
tinuing, despite medical skill, until her men-
tal faculties became very greatly affected.
With the hope of restoring reason she was
finally removed from a doting mother’s
watchful care and placed in the Asylum for
The Insane; but alas, the bright intellect,
which once found happy expression in a
handsome face, steadily burned lower and
lower until the chill hand of death closed
the eyes from which the light of reason had
wholly departed.
The remains were brought home and in
terred in the cemetery at Sunrise church.
The family desire, publicly, to tender to Dr.
Smith and his worthy assistants their heart-
felt thanks for the special attention and un-
remitting care bestowed upon the deceased.
