Text: Date of Birth given by Ned Hendrix from his family records. However, he indicates that Thomas Bourne Hendrix was born in Audrain County, but the death certificate says Callaway County.

Note: The death certificate lists the place of birth as Callaway County also the 1840 census shows this family living in Callaway, County. The ages of the children on the census correlate with the birthdates for the children in this family. The 1850 census shows this family in Audrain County. I believe one or more of the children born in this family were born in Callaway County. See notes below for birthdate discrepancies. -Jane

Thomas B. Hendrix 6 Dec 1821 – 1 Jan 1925 ‎(This Birthdate is incorrect it would make his mother 7 years old when he was born. The new headstone [with CSA markings]‎ in the cemetery ‎[unknown who had it placed]‎ places his birthdate as December 14, 1838. This fits more closely with the dates on the 1840 and 1850 census and his parents age.)
Margaret Pierce his wife 10 June 1827 – 18 Sept 1924

____________________
Also listed in this cemetery are two more Hendrix's though I am not at this time sure of a familial connection.

May Hendrix 5 May 1907 - 10 Sept 1937
Davis Hendrix Williams son of Grover Edward and Margaret 16 June 1932 - 17 Aug 1933
_______________________

The birth date on the headstone for Thomas B. was either transcribed incorrectly or the headstone itself is wrong.
Thomas shows on at least two census. They support the date the W.E.W. manuscript has as his birth.

Note
Research Notes -Jane

We don't have an exact date as yet for Thomas's birthdate. What we do have is as follows.

Death Certificate states birthdate is - 24 December 1838
Headstone states birthdate is - 6 December 1821
1850 census states his age was 18 which makes his birthdate abt. 1838
The Confederate Bios states his birthdate was 14 December 1838
Nellie Lobdells communications with her family states his birthdate was 14 December 1839.
I believe the headstone is Thomas's but I think both dates ‎(birth and death)‎ are incorrect.
Nellies notes are based on familial memory.

I believe that the year of birth was 1838 as seen on the death certificate, 1850 census and the confed bios. As to the day and month? It is too uncertain. Therfore I am listing him for now as having been born between 14 and 24 December 1838.
