The County of Rappahannock originally formed from Lancaster County in 1656 was later dissected into other counties which were dissected even further into Essex and Richmond in 1692 Spotsylvania, Orange and Culpeper were all later divisions each bei ng even further divided. A person could never have moved from the same home and have lived in several different counties during their lifetime.
